Respected member of Bangladesh Community in Nova Scotia,
The voluntary team working on the initiative to form a Bangladesh community association in Nova Scotia would like to provide with following updates in this regard:
Ø Based on personal communications as well as in the community consultation held on February 12, 2017 the voluntary team have got enthusiastic responses from the community members to form an association as the community is growing and strongly feel the necessity to keep continue with the initiative.
Ø The voluntary team for the initiative have discussed different aspects and is moving forward with establishing a society named Bangladesh Community Association of Nova Scotia (BDCANS). The team is working with the Provincial office regarding the proposed organization structure and registration process so that we can continue the initiative following the government rules and regulations.
Ø The team’s primary mission is to promote sense of community belonging and culture of respect though positive social interaction with community members.
Ø The voluntary team will keep continued community consultation through personal communications with community members, group discussions, and online tools. All reasonable efforts are being taken to reach out as much of our community members as possible. If you know someone who is not yet aware of the initiative, please convey the message and advise us to contact. Your cooperation in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Ø The team is working to develop a website (http://www.bdcans.com), Face book page and group email system to enhance the communication with the community. The information will be uploaded time-to-time on the website.
Ø Your inputs will be valuable road-map for this initiative. Should there be any valuable suggestions on organization structure or by-laws of the Society, members of the Association shall decide necessary amendments in members’ meeting.
Ø The team is accepting membership of the Association; and membership forms and information will be posted in the website. If you have any idea to share or like to join in voluntary activities of this initiative, please contact with any of the team members.
